Mukilteo, Wash., May 14th 2009 – Wizard International, Inc. announced the release of MatDesigner 5.7. The key feature of this release is the Matboard Library, a database of matboard numbers (or SKUs), color names and thicknesses.

Specify a matboard number in MatDesigner™, and on the cut screen there will be a prompt to set the blade depth based on the thickness of that particular matboard. The software will also automatically calculate new starting and stopping points based on the matboard’s thickness, increasing the accuracy of the cuts and taking the guesswork out of cutting thicker mats.

“When you use the Matboard Library with Visualization to add color, it saves time at the design counter and enhances the customer experience”, says Wizard’s Ambassador of Artistry, Brian Wolf, CPF, GCF.

If a user also employs IF Visualization, the colors for each matboard will be captured as they are used and saved in the Matboard Library. Seamless integration of the two software programs allows the color information to be shared with MatDesigner. When the mat number is entered again, the color will automatically appear in both programs. This allows users to build and customize their Matboard Library as they use it.

The color will also appear as a swatch on the cutting preview screen as a reminder of which mat should be in the CMC for that layer, reducing  production errors.
